The Martini Glass Doesn't Get Any Better Than This.
In search of the World's Best Martini Glass, we traveled to London. In an exclusive corner of Mayfair, only a brisk walk away from Buckingham Palace, stands Duke's Hotel, and there, tucked into the decidedly refined hotel bar, was the object of our search. Duke's Bar is where the Martini cocktail became a legend and where Ian Fleming sipped Dry Martinis, so this was our opportunity to find the definitive glass, a vessel worthy of the iconic drink.
Nothing comes close to the perfect cocktails made at this intimate, club-like bar, and the Martinis are both refreshing and rejuvenating. They are straight up frozen gin or vodka enlivened with dashes of bespoke vermouth and oil expertly wrung from generous peels of Amalfi lemon, then strained into stately crystal by white-jacketed bartenders. With elegant stem and sturdy base, the Duke's Bar Martini glass seems to define British cocktail culture, creating a perfect, graceful profile.
Its smooth touch, brilliant clarity, and delicate chime take the sting out of paying $27 for its contents! Offered in a Gift Box of 2 for keeping or giving.

At $38 per glass ... these just aren't worth it. They are of the same quality you'd find at C&B for under $10. Not sure what makes these so expensive. It says they are made of 'fine crystal'. They are made of glass, as far as I can tell. I own a lot of fine crystal and to me, they look like any old regular bar glass you'd find.I have been to Duke's bar on a few occasions and if you make a Vesper martini using their recipe, you know how difficult it is to find a similar glass as there are 5 shots in each Vesper there ... many martini glasses are too small, or too large, to accommodate the drink. These are the same size as you'd get at Duke's, so the glass is perfectly full when you make your martini.I usually keep them in the freezer, so they are as cold as the contents. So far, no chips ... but one did tip over in the sink and the side glass broke. They aren't the sturdiest glasses I've owned ... but probably more sturdy than most martini glasses because the top isn't quite as wide.Overall, if you want the exact same glass as they use at Duke's ... it might be worth it for you to drop $75 on a pair of glasses. For me, they are nothing special, other than that connotation, so don't expect to be getting a luxury item of world class glasses. You used to get a package of Duke's coasters with these but that seems not to be the case anytime. I hope this review was helpful to you.
Love the story that came with them.
These glasses are wonderfully designed: good to look at an easy to drink from, and holding a good amount. Customer service is exemplary: one glass broke for no apparent reason and it was replaced without question. I have bought two sets I am so pleased.
I've purchased multiple sets of this beautiful, well-balanced martini glass which is perfect for 3 oz. cocktails. But several of the well-used glasses have developed a milky 'fog' in the upper third of the glass, that is, the area down from the rim - the lower area in which the martinis are poured have remained crystal clear. Our tap water is from a well and the water quality is top-notch and better tasting that almost all bottled water products - so, I don't think the fog is caused by water. Besides, the glasses are only washed in mild soapy water for seconds before they're rinsed and towel dried - they are never in the dish washer. The foggy portion of the martini glass is a curiosity, that's for certain.
These are my favorite martini glasses.. Elegant design and feels nice in the hand. I bought another set I loved them so much!
