These were nicely packaged when they came out of the box. They are a set of 2 crystal glasses and i've used them for water, but primarily use them for cocktails. They are nice - I usually put in a large ice cube and the cocktail and it works well. I like the weight of the glasses - I might have wished they were a little larger and a set of four but other than that, they are great!
These Old Fashioned Glasses are elegant but suitable for everyday use. useful They are made of crystal but are tough enough to be washed in the dishwasher -- no special handling required. I use them for "rocks" glasses with Bourbon. I was surprised that my wife also likes them for her Gin and Tonic as they fit her petite hands, unlike other glasses we have tried. I like the Cole Porter story told on the flaps of the box. The peanuts they were packed in are water dissolvable and eco-friendly. They have an excellent warranty which is 100% satisfaction. I will be keeping this set but they would also make a great gift. I highly recommend them.
A fair amount of the glassware in my hutch is cheap. Nobody is going to comment on the clarity of my cocktail glasses or champagne coups. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything, until my set of Cole Porter Old Fashioned glasses arrived from the History Company.These things are gorgeous. By chance, when the box arrived and I unpackaged them, the sun was coming in low through my window, which meant that the gorgeous crystal with precisely cut edges sent a spectacular geometric spray of light across my dining room table.Now, the feature that distinguishes an Old Fashioned glass from any other short tumbler is a good thick base, since the Old Fashioned requires the muddling of a sugar cube and (in its modern iterations) a slice of orange or some other mellow fruit. The base of these Cole Porter glasses is properly stout (a solid 2/3rds of an inch, by my reckoning), but the beauty of the crystal gave me pause before I plunged my muddler into the whisky and citrus fruit. I need not have worried; the quality of craftsmanship was more than equal to my grinding.Since getting these glasses, I do admit that I have been having fewer Tiki drinks and martinis; my cocktail and hurricane glasses are no doubt feeling neglected. But with these beauties in my hutch, at the end of the day, nothing feels more enticing than grabbing a bottle of bourbon, muddling an Old Fashioned, and raising a glass to Cole Porter while I listen to 'Anything Goes.'
Wow! I really love these glasses!!!I have several different sets of whiskey glasses, but these are the best! The design, shape, and size is really special.In person, they are stunning!I also love they way that they feel in your hand--they are so easy to hold!Highly Recommended!!!
