WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT:  Masterfully crafted in America, using century-old techniques, this statement-making wine cabinet is more than just storage – it’s protection, presentation, and preservation rolled into one. It shields bottles from harmful direct light, excessive handling, and fluctuating room conditions, helping wines age gracefully and maintain their character. Beyond function, your cabinet becomes a piece of living-room or dining-room furniture, elevating the space with a sense of refinement. It keeps your collection organized, makes entertaining easier, and turns every uncorking into a small ritual.

Historical Significance: The traditional Barrister Bookcase, with its modular, stacking design and distinctive glass-fronted doors that lift and slide back, was originally created for lawyers to store and protect law books from dust while keeping them visible. Its solid craftsmanship and efficient use of vertical space made it a staple in professional offices. Today, that same clever, stackable concept has been reimagined as a wine cabinet – each section showcasing your collection while acting as secure, glass-fronted compartments, combining vintage charm with practical, dust-free storage for the modern wine enthusiast.

Modular, Stackable Design:  Simply unpack and stack the wood shelf sections – NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED.  The versatile, interlocking set begins with 3 individual compartments, wine rack insert, crown, and leg base – and provides the ability to stack additional units or pair a companion set later as your wine collection grows. The complete 3-tier cabinet includes two deep-receding glass doors and deep-receding, hide-a-bar wood door. The wooden wine rack shelf insert holds 18 bottles of wine; while top and bottom shelves provide generous room for liquor bottles, decanters, bar tools, and stemware.  The “Barrister Style” lift-and-slide doors protect glassware from dust.  The wood and glass lift-and-slide doors feature lacquered bronze knobs and lift up easily with one-hand operation. A mechanical equalizer ensures smooth operation as the doors slide into place.

Clever, Enduring Features:  Combining style and functionality, each section is its own self-contained unit, so you can stack as many as you like or rearrange them as needed. The distinctive glazed doors protect books from dust and damage.  The doors lift up and slide back into the top of each section, staying out of the way while you access the shelves.  All sections share the same width and depth, so they fit together perfectly in a neat vertical column.

Options:  Fine furniture pieces are only as good as the wood used to make them.  For your wine cabinet, you may personally select from a choice of kiln-dried hardwoods to match your aesthetic.  See and feel the difference yourself.  We’ll gladly send you actual hardwood samples so you can choose the perfect finish. Simply email us at: support@historycompany.com.  Choose cabinet pulls in either wood or bronze.   Optional locking doors available for added protection of your wine collection (+$229).

Dimensions and Specs:  Overall set (as shown) measures 56 3/4-inches (Height) x 34 1/4-inches (Width) x 15 3/4-inches (Depth).

Production Time:  4 weeks, reflecting the dedication to precision and craftsmanship.

The Barrister’s Bookcase, Repurposed.
Long prized by attorneys, the Barrister’s Bookcase is a gentleman’s portable library – oak, glass, and ingenuity in perfect proportion. Each stackable section is its own chamber, its lift-and-slide door revealing treasures kept safe from dust and time. Today, the leather-bound law books are gone, replaced by vintages worth cross-examining. Bordeaux in the top tier, a peppery Barolo below, perhaps a Champagne or two on the bottom for when the verdict comes in your favor. What was once a lawyer’s fortress for books has become your courtroom for wine – orderly, elegant, and prepared to defend every bottle’s honor.
A perfectly crafted piece of furniture that will last for generations, the Barrister’s Wine Cabinet can maximize the space and fit into an unused space of a living room or dining room.   And one that is unique, displaying the beautiful, natural characteristics of genuine American Hardwoods.
