  • WHY YOU WILL LOVE THEM:  Built-in 1906 by John Jacob Astor IV, the Knickerbocker Hotel played host to the world's biggest names in culture and high society in the early 20th century.  Legend has it the Martini cocktail was invented at the Knickerbocker Bar by bartender Martini de Arrma di Taggia, and these unique glasses were designed in the shape of Mr. Astor’s top hat.
  • Premium Gift Box:  Offering a set of 2 limited-edition cocktail glasses, faithful reproductions of original glasses used at New York's pre-Prohibition Knickerbocker Bar; true replicas, meticulously crafted from the historic Morgantown Glassworks molds. Gift Box includes a 4-page history of the legendary glass, its life and times.
  • Historically Inspired:  The stem is crafted in the shape of a gentleman in a top hat, an homage to John Jacob Astor’s New York and a symbol of American capitalism, true to the era’s modest size, about one-third the size of today’s cocktail glasses.  Provides a unique style for the sophisticated, theatrical, versatile presentation of favorite straight-up cocktails; the wide rim guides the cocktail to the center of the tongue, perfect for refreshing cocktails
  • Versatile and Multipurpose:  Originally designed for the Martini, these glasses are equally appropriate for service of the Whiskey Sour, Daiquiri, Aviation, Grasshopper, Gimlet, and other straight-up cocktails.  Perfect fit for vintage cocktail parties,or collectors of luxury barware.
  • A Conversation Piece:  Each glass blends historical elegance, artistic craftsmanship, and storytelling appeal.  Crafted with a lower center of gravity, its sides are less shallow than a contemporary cocktail glass; the flat-bottomed bowl gives the glass a better balance, making a drink harder to spill. The solid, figurative stem makes the glass more comfortable to hold.  It connects the ritual of fine drinking to an era of grand ballrooms, opulent hotel bars, and power lunches among tycoons.
  • Dimensions for Superior Functionality: Height: 5 1/2-inches; Rim Diameter: 3 1/4inches; Volume Capacity: 4 1/4-ounces.  These unique cocktail glasses are handcrafted using a classic form and traditional glassmaking techniques without lead or other toxic materials.  True replicas, meticulously crafted from the original Morgantown Glassworks molds

Historically-Inspired Cocktail Glass Makes Each Drink a Conversation Piece.

The Old Knickerbocker Bar Cocktail Glass has been faithfully reproduced from the original Morgantown Glassworks pattern. Each glass is crafted with an iconic stem in the shape of a dapper gentleman with a top hat, an homage to John Jacob Astor’s New York and a symbol of American capitalism.

The Edwardian headwear, de rigueur for patrons of "The Forty-Second Street Country Club," provided inspiration for a cocktail glass with an exceedingly aristocratic air. Each glass has a lower center of gravity and its sides are less shallow than a modern glass. Its flat-bottomed bowl gives it a better balance, making a drink harder to spill. Its solid, figurative stem keeps your warm hand away from the drink and makes it more comfortable to hold.

This Gift Box Set of 2 "Top Hat" Cocktail Glasses (including a history of the era) has a certain sensibility about it, calling to mind the sophistication of the Old Knickerbocker Bar. A gentleman’s reward, for keeping or giving.

Sturdy - Cute - and Totally Original

First off - it comes with documentation explaining the history of the glass which I thought was crazy - but it was actually pretty cool to learn about the heritage of the top hat glass. It was a unique little touch that humanized the company in my eyes. The product itself is very sturdy. I thought I would be worried about snapping the stem from the glass because it's held on by the top hat portion which I figured would be weaker - but it's pretty thick - and I'm never worried about breaking it.Aesthetically the pictures do it justice. If you like what's in the pictures then you'll like these glasses. The quality is there. The creativity is there. It's a happy endorsement from me if you like the look.

Now these are the coolest glasses I own.

I am a total sucker for unique glasses. While I usually prefer larger capacity glasses – these only hold about 4 oz. – I don’t mind small ones that are unique, and these fit that mold.I know they are martini glasses, but I like mimosas and I enjoy drinking from these glasses when we have lazy Sunday brunch at home.Since I am super clumsy, I’m glad these have some weight to them. The solid, figurative stem provides a good amount of weight to the lower half of the glass, along with the wide, flat bottom, and not only makes it comfortable to hold, but provides a lower center of gravity so as to not easily tip over.If you like conversations pieces as you enjoy a drink, this is for you!

These glasses make me laugh.

The glasses are high quality and very creative. This are always the main topic when I have company. I love the top hat glasses, but I cannot help to look at them and see Mr. Peanut. No one else sees it, but I laugh every time I use it. I love the way they are designed, and they are a great conversation started. This company has the best designed bar glasses. I highly recommend these glasses and also other glassed from this company. They are worth it.

Cute novelty set

Thick glass, well constructed. This is a nice little set to add to your collection. They feel very high quality and durable, and the classic look to them is just like the vintage glasses. They really cannot be beat.
