Skyscraper Dining Among the City’s Captains of Industry.

It was the most fantastic dining room anyone had ever seen.  The private, men-only Cloud Club opened in 1930 on the 66th, 67th, and 68th floors at the top of the Chrysler Building on 42nd Street in Manhattan.  Although exclusively a daytime social hub, the Cloud Club seemed “to its early members to be an Art Deco Shangri-La,” according to The New York Times.

This powerhouse luncheon club occupied the highest perch in the world, and while Prohibition was still in effect, the Cloud Club offered private cabinets for executives who needed a place to store their liquor.

And for the city's executives who took their power lunches seriously, drinks were served in crystal glasses, with patterning designed to mimic the stylized sunburst motif of the Chrysler Building's terraced crown.  Notable for brilliant clarity and superb balance, these sophisticated glasses combine beauty, substantial feel, and sparkling presentation to cocktails and generous pours of liquor served on the rocks.  Your friends will beg to know where you got them.  Offered in a Gift Box Set of 2, for keeping or giving.
