William Shakespeare Bust
$64.00William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's greatest dramatist. His body of work consists of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, 2 long narrative poems, and several other poems. His works have done more than endure, they have flourished, and are now performed and read in more countries and by more people than ever before. Many of Shakespeare's quotations and neologisms have passed into common usage, leaving an indelible mark on the English language. But beyond his impact on the language, Shakespeare is so widely read and performed today because he turned his considerable talent to exploring the timeless truths about what it means to be human.
Offering a portrait bust of the "Bard of Avon," which makes good use of the decorative fashion of the period. The work of an unknown sculptor of the 19th century, its original is held in a private collection. This 8-inch faithful reproduction is hand-cast and handfinished in crushed stone resin with a bronze patina.
